So Much More Than Tired
Hello!! This is my first post in a (hopefully) encouraging blog about living life with chronic fatigue and pain. I'm Maria, I am 44 years old, and I struggle with chronic fatigue and pain. But that is not all of who I am. I am a wife, a mother, a sister, daughter, and friend...I am an avid reader, I am a digital farmer (by this I mean I play farming video games!), I love most things music and especially love acapella music...but I'm learning that I love the drums too. I love decluttering and tidying, and am trying my hand at some artsy stuff like watercolors and card-making.
I formerly was a library assistant, and I loved my job. Being around all of those books, helping people find their next book series, even dealing with some visibly sad patrons and helping them smile; I enjoyed helping people. My heart and my love for encouraging people hasn't diminished with my energy levels.
I'm learning that I may be a 'highly sensitive person', both emotionally and literally, with lights being too bright or noises being too loud. I'm learning to embrace that along with my slowed down life.
I am a Christian, and I may sometimes mention how Jesus gets me through this or that...and I fully believe that. But if you aren't, or that isn't part of your slowed down life, I hope that you can still find encouragement and a supportive community through my blog.
Things I Love:
* Sitcoms over Movies
* Rom-Coms or Cozy Mystery genre of books
* Adult Coloring and sharp Crayola pencils (or Polychromos for when I feel fancy)
* Going for a walk with my husband and my pupper
* Cozy video games, not in 3D, but top down or 2D.
You see, I'm so much more than tired. YOU are so much more than tired! Who are you? What do you enjoy? What is the fatigue and pain blocking in you that sometimes makes you forget who you really are...that you are really so much more than tired? I'd encourage you to make a list...sometimes, we need that visual reminder.
Until next time, may we continue to encourage each other to embrace this slowed down life!
Maria
Looking forward to your future blogs babygirl!
